Day13　ロサンゼルスの遊び方　Los Angels

アメリカ7日目
The 7th day in the United States.

今日はまずUberでビバリーヒルズ
Today we took an Uber taxi to go to Beverly Hills.

高級住宅街を通り過ぎ、高級ブランド通りまで
We went thought the high society area to go to Rodeo street, where they have high quality shops.

開店して20年になるカリフォルニアロール・ファクトリー(https://www.calrollfactory.com/)
And we went to the sushi restaurant which is called "California Roll Factory."

オーナーは日本人だけど、実際に作っているのは外国人
I heard that the owner is Japanese, but he wasn't there and the American made sushi for us.

レインボーロール、えび天ロールも全部おいしかった
We ordered a rainbow roll and a shrimp roll and these were very tasty.
午後はバスでサンタモニカへ
And we took a bus to Santa Monica in the afternoon.
バスの仕組みが最後までよくわからなかったけど、
I don't really get the system of taking buses here,

小銭を持っていないと、運転手もおつりを持っていないので
since the drivers don't have changes, I don't even need to pay if I don't have the change.

タダ乗りさせてくれる。さて、これはこれで正しいのか？
I wonder if it's correct, but they just let us get off, so it should be fine.

サンタモニカもサンタバーバラ同様、みんなビーチで遊んでいる
In Santa Monica, people walk along the beach like people do in Santa Barbara.
サンタモニカのダウンタウンはユニクロとか手の届くお店が多かったので
And in downtown, there are reasonable shops like UNIQLO compared with Beverly Hills

うろうろウィンドウショッピング
We just looked around into the shops.
ホテル近くまで帰ってきて、スーパーで夜ご飯とお土産を調達
We came back by subway and stopped by at grocery store to get some food for tonight.

夜はまたまた山火事で消防車のサイレンが鳴る中パッキングして就寝
I packed all the stuff for leaving in the sounds of fire engines sirens again.

ミャンマー2日目 The 2nd day in Myanmar まずは友人が働く職場見学へ First, we visited my friend's office, actually it's clinic. 友人は日本の病院からミャンマー診療所に派遣され、ミャンマーの医療向上に努めている My friend was sent by Japanese hospital to improve the technique in the medical filed in Myanmar. 今日は私のために有給を取ってくれて観光 Just for me, she took day off to take me to the sight seeing. まずは遅めの朝ごはんとしてチャイ、揚げパンと麺 We took Chai tea, bread, and noodle as breakfast. 首都らしい都会の一角を通り過ぎて、スーレーパゴダと呼ばれる仏塔へ Walking down t hrough the developped district with high buildings, we arrived at Sule Pagoda. タイ同様、金色に輝いているけど形が違う The Pagoda is made with gold paintings as same as Thailand, but the shape of the Pagoda is different. その後、日本の国際協力で建てたという船着き場を利用して対岸のダラ地区へ Next, we took a ship to go to the other side of the river which is called "Dala." 中心部とはかなり格差が大きく、 The economic situation in Dala looks lower than the central part in Yangon. 途上国あるあるではあるが、タクシーがしつこく付きまとってくる It often happens in developping co...

Day28　コトヌー・グランポポの遊び方　Cotonou and Grand-Popo

ベナン2日目 The 2nd day in Benin 今までのようにどこにでもWifiがあるわけではないので There is no wifi everywhere like developped countries. まずはコトヌーでSIM探し I look for a SIM in Cotonou before leaving. 隊員ドミトリー⇔事務所間にできたMTN（通信会社） There is a new MTN store which they didn't have 5 years ago. 身分証明としてパスポートを提出する I handed in the passport as an ID to employee. コピー機がないので必要な情報を紙に書き写している He started to copy it by hand because they don't have a copy machine. こりゃ1時間コースだなと思っていたら I suspected that it would take more than one hour. なんと15分で手続き終わった！しかも100F！ However, it's done within 15minutes and costs 100F. 道端のおばちゃんからもSIM買えますが、 We can buy SIM cards at the store on the road,  but it costs 1000F, 1000Fするらしいので店舗に行くとよいでしょう so it's better to go to the branch store. そして朗報！あのガタガタ・ぐちゃぐちゃの道がキレイになってる！ And what's new is that the bumpy road became proper completely. 道の状態によっては2～3時間かかっていたところが1.5時間でグランポポに到着 It took only 1.5hours wich is of course faster than befor...
