アメリカ11日目 The 11th day in the United States. 今日は教会の司教さんが新しく就任されるということで、 Today is the day that a new bishop well be held in the church. 3時間かけて州都ピエールに行き、就任の儀式に参加してきた We went to Pierre, the capital of North Dakota, to attend the ceremorny. 失礼のないように書きたいが、小学校の卒業式のような感じだった It was like the ceremony that I experienced in Japan. 台本が配られて、誓いの言葉と歌（讃美歌）が交互にあって、 All we have the scripts which says the discriptions of the ceremony, 「全員起立」とか「司祭が〇〇する」と書いてあるからそれに従う so we obey the words of oath and the songs. 途中で偉い人が30分ぐらい台本にない司祭との思い出を語りだして In the ceremony, the President started to tell the story about the new bishop, which wan't in the script. みんながアメリカンジョークに笑っている中、英語についていけずにウトウト While everyone was laughing at American jokes, I just couldn't be awake. 最後はみんなで世界の平和と苦しい状況にある人たちの幸せを祈りました At the end, we prayed for the peace and for the people in the darkness. 家に帰る 途中、トウモロコシ宮殿なるものに立ち寄り記念撮影 On the way home, we stopped at the Corn Palace to take pictures. 建物の茶色い部分が本物...

アメリカ10日目 The 10th day in the United States. 今日は高校時代の友人がミネソタ州から遊びにきた My friend in Fosston, Minnesota made to see me. 留学していた町から550km、5時間かけて会いに来てくれた The distance between Fosston and Sioux Falls is 550km and it takes 5 hours if drive. 同級生だったので、授業も部活も土日もいろいろお世話になりました We were in the same class and she helped me alot in the class and in the band, too. そんな再会を果たした今日、ビッグニュースが訪れた Today which we got together again unexpectedy, we had a good news. 昨夜ミネソタ州の高校バレーボール大会があり Last night, they had a volleyball tournament amang all high schools MN. 優勝したとのこと！そして、それが2004年以来の快挙！とのこと！！ ( https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4751863-Fosston-sweeps-Ada-Borup-West-wins-first-8A-volleyball-title-since-2004 ) And they won the prize this year, and it didn't happen since 2004. 2004年って留学していた時じゃん 2004 was my exchange year. だから吹奏楽部に一緒に入っていた私たちは That's why the band went to the stadium in the capital, わざわざ430km,4スクールバスに揺られて州都のスタジアムに応援しにいったのね and cheer them up after the bus ride of...

アメリカ9日目 The 9th day in the United States. ソルトレークシティーからミネアポリス乗り継ぎでサウスダコタ州スーフォールズへ I was flying from SLC to Sioux Falls in South Dakota. 留学したのはミネソタ州でしたが、ホストファミリーが引っ越したのでここに来ました I stayed with my host family in MN 14 years ago, but they moved to SD. アメリカ8日目 The 8th day in the United States. 今日は6時起きで日本に帰る母を空港までお見送り I got up at six and took my mom to the airport to say good-bye for now. ひとりでダウンタウンまで行ってみようかな I went to the downtown alone. ユニオン駅まではWifi付きのフライアウェイというバスで快適に移動 I found the Fly Away bus which has wifi to get to the Union Station. そこからどこへ行けばいいかわからずウロウロ I don't really know about the town and walked around unknown place. ウロウロし過ぎて危険地域付近まで行ってしまう I wasn't pay too much attention and I almost walked into the dangerouns district. ビジネスマンが「栄えてる場所はあっちだよー」と教えてくれて回避成功 The kind bussiness mas helped me to show the market place and I got out from that district. グランドセントラルマーケットでピザを食べ、 I had a pizza at the grand market and ショッピングモール「フィガット7」へ went to the mall "FIGat7." ここでwifiが繋がり、調べていると無料美術館を発見 I diidn't relly have an idea where to go and look something with Wifi at the malls. ザ・ブロードへ(https://www.thebroad.org/visit/mirror-rooms) I found the free museun "The Broad." 草間さんの作...

アメリカ7日目 The 7th day in the United States. 今日はまずUberでビバリーヒルズ Today we took an Uber taxi to go to Beverly Hills. 高級住宅街を通り過ぎ、高級ブランド通りまで We went thought the high society area to go to Rodeo street, where they have high quality shops. 開店して20年になるカリフォルニアロール・ファクトリー( https://www.calrollfactory.com/ ) And we went to the sushi restaurant which is called "California Roll Factory." オーナーは日本人だけど、実際に作っているのは外国人 I heard that the owner is Japanese, but he wasn't there and the American made sushi for us. レインボーロール、えび天ロールも全部おいしかった We ordered a rainbow roll and a shrimp roll and these were very tasty. 午後はバスでサンタモニカへ And we took a bus to Santa Monica in the afternoon. バスの仕組みが最後までよくわからなかったけど、 I don't really get the system of taking buses here, 小銭を持っていないと、運転手もおつりを持っていないので since the drivers don't have changes, I don't even need to pay if I don't have the change. タダ乗りさせてくれる。さて、これはこれで正しいのか？ I wonder if it's correct, but they...

アメリカ6日目 The 6th day in the United States. 昨日から泊っているホテルは「ジノシ　メトロポリタン　アパートメント」 We are staying at "Ginosi Metlopolitan Aprtment" in Los Angels.   今日は1日ハリウッドを日本語ツアーで巡る We joined a Hollywood tour in Japanese. 日本語を話すエジプト人がホテルまで迎えに来てくれた An Egyptian who can speak Japanese fluently picked us up at the hotel. 9:30-17:30までユニバーサルスタジオハリウッドで遊ぶ We had fun for eight hours in Universal Studios in Hollywood.   日曜日なのにアトラクション15分待ちで全部乗れた！ Even it's on Sunday, all attractions except one are required with 15 mins of waiting time. 日曜日の午前中はみんなゆっくりだから空いているらしい It is usual that the Americans wake up slow in the sunday morning. そして、やっぱりアメリカはショーが面白い What is more, the shows are very interesting in the United States. ハリウッド映画の音響効果・アクションの撮影方法のショーはお腹かかえるほど笑えた I had a fun time watching the effect show which presents the sounds & actions in Hollywood movies. 動物ショーも老若男女、英語が分からなくても楽しめる Also the show of animal acters gives you fun time even if you don't understand Eng...

アメリカ5日目 The 5th day in the United States ※写真なし ※ No pictures 午後サンタバーバラからロサンゼルスへ We went to LA from Santa Barbara. 到着後、インフォメーションに向かうも人がいなくて迷う After we've got LAX, there was nobody at the information. ホテル巡回してくれるバスが分からず、 地下鉄で向かうことにする I couldn't find the shuttle which goes around hotels and decided to go by subway. あたりは真っ暗 It's getting dark. 切符の買い方を隣の人に教えてもらったのはいいが、１路線動いていない模様 The guy next to us helped me to buy tickets, but the problem is that one line is out of order. 地下鉄⇒バス⇒地下鉄を提案される He suggested to tranfer to the bus and to the subway again. 1回目のバスへの乗り換え The first transit to the bus. 同じように迷いながら進むイタリア人カップルの旅行者を発見 We found the Italian couple who are also wondering where to go. 最後の地下鉄の駅も隣だったので一緒に行動することに Luckily, they will get off the one before stop with us, we decided to stick together. 2回目の地下鉄への乗り換え The second transit to the subway. まさかの同じホームに違う路線が来るという事態に遭遇 We took the different train and repeated twice to go back and forth. それに気づかず無駄に2往復 It happe...
